Hi all new to this forum my partner and I are getting married at the Iberostar Costa Dorada in September if anyone ha any info or advice that would be great.
It seems everyone is a little bit confused about the paperwork costs ? I have been in contact with Grahame and also contacted the Consolate in Puerto Plata once I receive any info I will post this for everyone to see.

My Wedding at Riu Merengue....

Hi All,

Just thought i would let you all know how my wedding in the Dom Rep went... As most of you know we were originally going to Holiday village but with the bad reports we moved to the Riu Merengue, I was told by First Choice that a beach wedding was still not allowed but with the bad reports i thought at least it was one thing of my mind and the gazebo's in the brochure were stunning...

Well when i arrived and met with Maria I was told I could basically have whatever i wanted, my family were allowed to act as witnesses (something First Chice told me was illegal??) I could have my wedding on the beach (another thing First Choice told me was not allowed) so it truly was my dream wedding,

It was an amazing day, the decoration of the beach was beautiful, the staff were amazing, especially Maria the wedding co-ordinator, it really was the best day of my life...

I couldnt have wished for more...

CONGRATULATIONS Mrs Bush, Glad it all went ok, ive got 3 weeks on monday before i fly out for my wedding and counting, ha ha xx

CONGRATULATIONS mrs bush really pleased you enjoyed your wedding day -------- i cant believe you only have 3 weeks till you go im going to have to hurry up and get on the rower and loose a few pounds ha ha xxx

Hi, I am planning to get married in the DR in October 2009. I was hoping that someone can help. I have heard some stories that October is a bad month weather wise. Has anyone got experience of October. What can we expect in terms of rain/hurricanes? :bunny:

That would be excellent. Fingers crossed for you. My husband to be is worried about the weather in October. :squareeyeWho did you book with? We are going to book with Thompson and were thinking of Bavaro (Riu Palace Puna Cana).;)

Hi Sophia im getting married this oct as well so will keep you posted about weather etc the thing is you cant predict the weather antmore just take a look at our summer?? so im hoping in dom rep that the weather is red hot but not too hot i no last year in oct they had no rain or anything so heres hopeing this oct going to be the same im going with first choice as well to the holiday village

Hi all, well this will probably be my last day off posting before i fly out on monday, yippee. had a bit of a doo wi first choice again over last few days as they are saying they cant confirm a date and a time untill we get out there as its upto the hotel, as ive said before those guys are useless. told them that kelly & iona had theirs confirmed a few weeks before but there not budging, we have asked for the 12th and have been told that shouldnt be a problem as there isnt any other weddings on that day, will wait and see. I will keep you informed of stuff while im out there, we are in the royal suites so we get free internet access so will log in a few days each week if i can. Luv from (future Mrs McGuire, he he) xx
