would be nice to be on the same page :)

Didn't read the whole thread but but, I thought we were more concerned with the dying haitian who are crushed under the rubble of concrete as we discuss saving street puppies.
AZB

incase you didn't notice there are already threads for haitia's woes...
and this wasn't one of them which means your comment has no bearing here...
have a nice day :)

Ok I got the Rotti, I named him "Lucky."

He is 6 months old (according to Dr. Bob) and weighs 29 lbs. His legs have no muscle whatsoever, my guess is that he was tied up his whole life, mostly with his mouth wired shut. What bastards.

He has a ferocious appetite and looks like he's gonna make it. He also has 5 other dogs to play with. After a couple minor incidents, they seem to have accepted him.

You just made my day. It's people like you who make our world a better place. Lucky is one lucky puppy now! Good job Conchman.

Am so delighted that he now has a wonderful new home with you and other doggie pals.

We went in this afternoon and saw Dr. Bob and would have been happy to have him also but it's just great to know he is now in good hands.

Big thanks to you, Conchman, and a huge thank you to the power of DR1 ensuring this is truly a lucky "Lucky".

Good man! My last dog died after a long and enviable life. The only thing that could console me was a new friend from the local dog rescue, aptly named Guinness;

Wow, socuban, it's incredible that a dog like that would even end up in a dog rescue pound.

Still amazed at the "stuff" people give away in my neck of the Florida woods.

Next hurricane, I'm going "dumpster-diving" in the intercoastal for a 50 footer. If I'm lucky, I may even claim "Privacy" for my own, lol.

The Transformation of 'Lucky'

Below is a pic of Lucky, 4 months later.

He now weighs 60lbs (26 lbs when I got him).

His skin condition (he had nasty demodex parasites) is back 90% to normal.

I want to give thanks to:

Dr. Bob - who got him healthy

Arlette - my (ex) girlfriend who drove him from Cofresi to Sosua every week to get his medical baths.

Antonia - my maid, for bathing him and giving him the medicine on a regular basis.

Whirleybird - for posting his pic on this board that made me want to adopt him.

He's now fitting in good with my other 5 dogs.

Thank you for posting these photos of Lucky - so good to see him looking so well and like a 'real' dog again after his ordeal as a young pup.

I know we can't save them all but, if we all do a little every now and again, it really can make a difference and Lucky is very fortunate to have found you.

I could never understand why anyone would treat an animal or any living thing in such a horrific manor. Good job to all who help out street dogs, cats and horses :) things happen in peoples lives where they are unable to care for their pets...this is understandable...but to intentionally hurt an animal is unfathomable!

If you dont' believe me, ask Dr. Bob, he has been giving him the medical bath every week for the last 3 months, he has witnessed his transformation.

I figured some people might be skeptical.

He isn't being skeptical Conchman, this has got lost in translation :ermm:.He means it as praise that you have all done such a wonderful job on him that he is almost unrecognisable from the poor little thing that first got abandoned.
Don't worry - nobody is doubting you or the story. just wonderful! :cheeky:
Does he have scars from the wire around his face?
Hope you don't mind me jumping in JDJ?

The scars from the wires around his mouth are barely visible, but he still has a hole underneath the jaw where a screw-worm fly layed flesh eating maggots, when the wound got infected before I got him. He slobbers saliva out of that hole sometimes. His feet still show hairloss from the demodex parasites. Otherwise he's pretty healthy!
