Maybe another topic more important to DR is when will businesses fully reopen. Tourism certainly won't reopen if hotels are closed, bars not serving, rent a car businesses shuttered, beaches closed and restaurants dark.

The horse must go ahead of the cart. Tourists don't want to come to the Caribbean if it is in a quarantined wasteland.

June 1st....si Dios permite

USA prohibited so many flights/countries when they felt at risk

Now... deep in the sewer........ they spread things around the country and the world
and restrict NONE of their own traffic............WEIRD

I want NO PART of an airplane or clinic right now
Too many sick people go there.

Same here, I'm not even leaving my house.. A lot of the AA flights only have about 15 people and the flight attendants can keep a safe distance. I imagine the people are too, but yeah, it's still an aluminum tube. My daughter said some airlines are checking temps of people before they board.

I got an email from westjet cancelling my flight to Canada on April 24. I expected it. A friend forwarded a message from the airline advising all their international flights are cancelled until May 4

More bad news if your flying united

In other news, United has requested a $500 million loan from Goldman Sachs Bank USA to help soften the financial impact of the COVID-19 crisis on its operations.

Just read a story, the government of Ontario just said we might still be in lockdown to the end of summer.
Going to take a long time for corvid to run its course.

This works out great for those wanted by Interpol, the FBI, IRS and child support enforcement :)

HHAHAHAHAHAA.. Who are you kidding??? Wanted by the IRS???

They will arrange a Special Operations Flight

The others,, ya,, your safe

LOL. The truth of the matter is right now, unless the statue of limitations is running out on a case, the IRS is not in any position to press matters such as audits and such. You know, there is a little issue on the table right now that needs attention first: Issurance of 2 trillion dollars !How many people do you think are going to be put behind that matter? Hmmmm, the small guy with an issue on a personal return,,,FORGETABOUTIT.

Wanting to know when the DR will open (Me included) reminded me a a friend that put her Christmas tree up in mid Oct. I said "why so early?" She answered, "OH, I wish Christmas was tomorrow."

The DR being open to travel depends more on the larger countries who create the tourism dollars here, economically speaking,
For instance Prime Minister Trudeau stated the strict measures could extend on into the mid to end of June....
That is more like the comments I hear from Dr1 posters.
But it too is highly speculative.

This isolation compliance is creating a different kind of social response in all countries including China.
Going to be interesting for those of us who survive....and I mean that in a positive way.

Yes everything depends on the virus, you know the CCP virus..Supposed to peak in the USA in about 3 weeks..and it needs to peak here in the DR, which it is well on its way..then it needs to taper off and somehow be controlled..could be longer than most think.. a lot longer..

Jet Blue announced today that they will continue to fly during the crisis. They will reduce flights by 70% during the month of April and see what happens. They also announced changes in the reward program and changes in the travel bank. This notice was sent to Mosaic members but I'm not able to resend and post it.

Aha Doc.... you got that right....

Did you coach Dr Fauci ??

They asked him when it might end

Basically, he said
The virus dictates that - not us

Somebody will be the last person to get infected.

Long after the "everything's safe go back to your normal life" notice.

It will not be me.

Peak has now been targeted as April 15th.
I suspect it will peak later in DR, maybe 3-4 weeks past.
