Although there are some dreadful things being done to Zona Colonial and even worse things planned for the historic ruins of San Francisco Monastry, Zona Colonial remains one of the most interesting and bohemian barrios en the whole of the Caribbean . It is developing into an area with boutique shops and great little restaurants but as I said, the council has done an appalling job .when so much more could have been done for a fraction of the money . It most certainly is not a ghetto in any sense of the word ..the ghetto is just a little further north in Villa Francisca
