Man I wish I could get all of the games on tv. At any rate congrats to Germany. I can imagine the celebration everytime they win a game. Plenty of dopplebock that's for sure. I'll leave you guys with a song I learned in Fallschirmjager/Kommando training in the Bavarian alps:

Jawohl, jawohl, ich liebe alcohol, ich trinke klein wasser, ich liebe alcohol… :)

Coach Fabio Capello said the referee's decision to rule out England's second 'goal' was the turning point during the 4-1 defeat by Germany at the World Cup.

With Germany 2-1 ahead, Frank Lampard's first-half strike hit the bar then landed about a foot over the line, but it was disallowed.

"It was the most important moment of the game," said the England boss, after his team exited at the last-16 stage.

"Where is the technology? Instead we are talking about goal or no goal."

The combination of that first soft goal let in by the England goalkeeper.....and the horrible no goal call by the ref......might have been a little deflating.......when your playing a really good team like Germany...........That kinda stuff just can't happen.........Hats off to Germany...........It will get real interesting now..............I just hope the bad calls are behind us........and the players will decide the games........not just portions of it.............

while I agree on the need of TV proofs for soccer Cups/while the Game of course goes on, they can check the facts with the 4th referee on the screen and while the Game goes on without timeloss/timeout they can announce the result to te referee over is Headset and he can correct a result/situation accordingly.
completely time outs like in Hockey would be a mess for a soccer game, can't happen, would damage the Heat of the moment in that Kinda Game.

what the England Coach said about the importance of the Moment is crap.
yes, it was a cruicial situation at the only 3-4 minutes of the whole game England Pressuring, but a soccer Game is won over 90 minutes, and I saw a clearly stronger German 11 than a English 11, clearly stronger.
instead of his 'wished' 2:2 halftime Draw by the action of the first half it could also have been a easy 3:0 by halftime.

I am all in and applaus to use tecnology,
but if that coach would have the real Balls he would just agree that he failed and his Team been today just the 2nd best on the field, point.

the 5 minutes and 12 seconds Press Conference yesterday been a good example to show that England as a Soccer Nation(and sure they are one of the biggest soccer nations of the globe, no doubt from my side on that fact) is in Internal deep trouble. there are homemade problems and they need to get sorted out before a Red-White 11 has a chance on the Field to show their available strength.
look on France,
what a great potential of Players,
and where they are?
for the same reasons, dirty clothes cleaning in the home household at the wrong time/bad timing.

I await a War between Argentina and Germany in the Quarters,
I hope the winning Team will have enough players left to start the Semi's.

Yup,
Agreed. Germany were the better team and won the match.
Well done!

To misquote Zappa - Talking about football is like fishing about architecture.

Buggeration!!!

like Germans talking Ice Hockey,, he he.
all should stick to their best 'Field',
like Dominicans are the world's best in Baseball,
even that one or two other Nations falsely claim such for themselves, lol.

my Top 3 form the actual Tournament are so far Brazil, Argentina and the Alemanes, Portugal can be a Top Dog on a good Day but sorrily they never showed the needed constancy over a Tournament, the Dutch are not to underestimate but still did not show any Power/sure I know they still did not need to do so.
as a german sure it's clear where I wanna see the Cup, if they proceed like they do til now,
my since grow up beloved 11 is Brazil, I have more original Brazilian back in the day Player's shirts at home than German ones, they did not have any real opponent til now and as a good Tournament Team they did game by game what needed to be done to advance without running out of powers, against Argentina or Portugal or Germany they will show us what the real Deal is,
and there is my silent new favorite,
Ghana,
they are not the Top Team with the highest potential,
but when they think back to their Roots and play with their hearts those Boys can be a P.I.T.A. for everybody of an opponent.
we will know soon how they go on Uruguay, a unexpected compact Team, good midfield and striking Force, not the best defense,
that Forlan would make any Top League Team proud to have him.

time for Argentina,
let's spy out the Enemy, he he

enjoy a sunny afternoon everybody

I think its time that the English gave up trying to play soccer, though I must admit they are good losers at most things.

Lets face it they do get enough practice at losing

Very sportsmanlike, I must say.

How are the senior citizens treating you in Boca Chica?;)

What an embarrassing day for football referees!

First the England goal, now the Argentinian one.

Mr. Blatter, stop being a dick and let them use basic technology, like replies, 4th official intervention etc. I have a feeling after today, we will see some changes :)

I hear England has a NEW coach.... it's taking them to the airport!

Hey, sometimes you have to smile in defeat :)

The travel arrangements for the England sqaud has been changed , they now land at Blackpool , not Heathrow , thats the only way they could book a open top bus .

Amazing how it seems Spain and England are the perennial underachievers.

I for one would like to see someone other than Argentina, Brazil or Germany win yet another one.

I'm sorry but I thought this headline by the New York Post was one of the funniest I've ever seen by saying "This Sport is Stupid Anyway":

I will say that I got caught up in the soccer fever and even watched the US-Ghana game is Cabarete. In all honesty, I enjoyed the game.

In the end, I think this headline says volumes about how soccer is viewed, in general, in the US.

Let's Go Mets!! :)

Woa, calm down my friend. I just thought this was a funny headline. Actually, I was shocked that they published this. To me, it really demeans the US's accomplishments, but if you have a sense of humor it's funny.

I agree with you about how the US deems itself the best in many sports. We have a "World Series" that only teams in the US compete for. Ultimately, soccer has made some advances in the US in recent years but it has a long way to go before it becomes one of our main sports.

We love football (American style :)) and baseball. We also enjoy basketball and even hockey.

To be totally honest, the US-Ghana game was the first complete soccer game I've ever watched. I was asking a Colombian guy next to me questions every other minute about what was going on and why. Fortunately, he had a lot of patience and I began to appreciate the game a bit.

I can't say I've become a soccer fan, but I wouldn't mind watching a game now...

Since 66 onwards (11), the World Cup has been won by.

England
Brazil
Germany
Argentina
Italy
Argentina
Germany
Brazil
France
Brazil
Italy

6 for Europe
5 for South America

That's a pretty good mix, especially as they are by far the two dominant footballing continents :)

I don't expect the status que to change anytime soon.

that's correct,
I don't expect someone from outside that Domain to disturb the Balance.
there's a Chance to make it 7:5, at least a chance,
but truely I say the 6:6 Draw will finally be done this Time.
even that I 'hope' different of course, G.

Ian/Tambo,
You are completely right,
even that I of course hate to write such, but true is true.
after a 9AM Fruehschoppen that still did not finish for obvious reasons,
I will just shut the Face Up on the Theme for tonight.

Hey,
tomorrow is an other posting day, lol
