President Mej?a to Puerto Rico
President Hip?lito Mej?a will make an official visit to Puerto Rico to discuss trade relations and the situation of the Dominicans residing on the neighboring island. Thousands of Dominicans live in Puerto Rico, many of them illegally and commerce with the island totals over a billion dollars. As an example, the President said that the DR exports over 100,000 quintals of coffee to Puerto Rico. President Mej?a will meet with Governor Sila Calder?n in La Fortaleza, the Puerto Rican seat of government. The President will also meet with business and industrial associations to discuss commerce and investment opportunities.
