Hazy skies and threats of rain are currently covering large parts of the Dominican Republic. The Dominican Weather Department is forecasting more rain for most of the national territory for today, but the skies over Santo Domingo remained dry on Monday through the early afternoon. Yesterday, intense precipitation caused by a tropical wave filled the Rinc?n and Hatillo dams. The dam at Rinc?n is the site of the rowing and canoeing events of the Pan American Games. Bonao communities were affected by the flooding of the rivers in the area and some communities were isolated.
