Lubrano and Baez houses confiscated

Four vacation homes in the exclusive Casa de Campo complex near La Romana have been impounded by the authorities. The houses, valued at a total of US$18 million, are the properties of disgraced Baninter executives Marco B?ez Cocco, Vivian Lubrano de Castillo and bank president Ram?n B?ez Figueroa. The properties are the latest assets belonging to the individuals accused of multi-billion fraud in connection with the Baninter debacle. Three helicopters belonging to Ram?n B?ez Figueroa have already been confiscated, as well as his media and communications empire. B?ez has denied ownership of the helicopters, stating they are held under US company names, regardless of the installment payments made by him.
Diario Libre reveals that the authorities are looking into the possibility that B?ez Figueroa?s luxury yacht ?Patricia? is in national waters, while his private jet is believed to be outside the country. The case against the Baninter executives has been in process for sixty days now, and the case judges are expected to apply for an extension.
