President Hipolito Mejia?s re-election campaign director had praise yesterday for Eduardo Estrella, the Presidential candidate for the PRSC. As reported in Hoy newspaper, Eligio Jaquez said that while the PRSC presidential candidate has been known to criticize the Mejia government, he does so with respect. ?We have been close to the PRSC and we have sincerely encouraged that party to maintain its strength and history, and to continue being an option to power in the DR. Jaquez disdained the PLD?s attempts to weaken the PRSC when he referred to the recent alliance between the PLD and a PRSC faction that opposes the candidacy of Estrella.
