Tobacco and Rum

34 restaurants participating in the Grand Gastronomic Circuit to create a New Dominican Cuisine are focusing on dishes with rum and on cigars this month as part of the 2010 Santo Domingo — American Capital of Culture event. So far, 275 new dishes have been created and tasted by restaurant goers throughout the city.

Augusto (Uto) L. Sanchez, president of the Dominican Association of Restaurants (Aderes), says that from Monday, 10 January through Thursday, 20 January, the 30 restaurants will offer the full range of their best dishes prepared for the circuit throughout the year.
