President Medina meets General Electric executives

President Danilo Medina hosted a visit by the vice chairman of General Electric, John Rice and other company executives at the Presidential Palace yesterday, Tuesday 16 June 2015.

Rice was introduced to the President by the executive vice president of the Dominican Public Electricity Corporation (CDEEE), Ruben Jimenez Bichara.

Jimenez Bichara informed that General Electric was involved in the manufacture of equipment for the coal-fired Punta Catalina power plant in the southwestern province of Peravia (Bani), which is currently under construction by the CDEEE. He said that they discussed future cooperation with GE in the areas of technology, efficient energy and other ways of managing coal-fired plants more efficiently.

Rice was accompanied by Reynaldo Garcia, director general for Latin American Businesses and Luis Felipe Carrillo, president & CEO Andean & Caribbean at GE.
