The list is longer every day. Aside from President-elect Luis Abinader and his wife Raquel Arbaje, many leading Dominican politicians have fallen ill with Covid-19.
The media carries the story of PRM deputy-elect Zadia Polanco of Valverde who died after being infected. Her fellow party member, also elected to the Chamber of Deputies, Andres Templar, is also infected.
People’s Force senator-elect Franklin Rodriguez (FP-San Cristóbal), has tested positive for the disease.
Others infected are Francisco Villegas (PRM) deputy elect for La Altagracia was hospitalized at the Cruz Jiminian clinic in Santo Domingo and then sent home to continue his recovery.
Also Rafael Castillo, deputy-elect for Santo Domingo East for the PLD and Emanuel Morales, deputy elect for the PLD in Santo Domingo North.
