Rafael Toribio presides the Economic and Social Council

President Luis Abinader is restoring the Economic and Social Council as the country’s leading platform for talks and discussions on development policies and actions. The entity is entrusted with the follow up of the National Development Strategy Law 1-12.

Toribio was sworn in by Presidency Minister Lisandro Macarrulla on Monday, 8 September. He replaces Monsignor Agripino Núñez Collado, who was appointed honorary advisor to the Executive Branch after 15 years at CES.

Toribio highlighted that the Covid-19 pandemic enhances the CES role as a platform for seeking common solutions, agreements, and unifying national efforts in one direction.
