President Luis Abinader has scheduled visiting San Pedro de Macorís for a day trip this Saturday, 26 September 2020. He will hold meetings with government, business and community members.
On his agenda is a first 9am meeting with Bishop Santiago Rodríguez and then with evangelical Christian churches.
He will meet with retired sugar cane workers who for years have demanded a pension from the state.
At noon, Abinader is scheduled to visit the San Pedro Industrial Free Zone, for the start of construction of three manufacturing plants.
He will also visit the San Pedro port and municipal hospital. He will tour the historical part of the city and its Malecón.
Lunch is scheduled with the political leadership of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM).
