A Diario Libre headline on 18 December 2020 explains that there are only six more days to complete the first part of the 2020-2021 Winter Professional Baseball Championship.
The standings have the Toros del Este leading the tournament, followed by the Estrellas Orientales, Aguilas Cibaeñas and Leones del Escogido all just 1-1/2 games away. The Gigantes team is 2-1/2 games away. The Gigantes and the Licey need to play many more games after they were out for around two weeks after several players tested positive with Covid-19.
Diario Libre reports this Friday, 18 December is a day of double games with the Estrellas matching the Licey in Santo Domingo and the Gigantes and Toros playing in La Romana. Escogido and Aguilas play in Santiago.
The tournament runs through 23 December 2020, but there could be games on 26 December and 28 December, depending on how the earlier games go.
