Carnival Cruise’s newest Mardi Gras mega cruise ship has been making stops at the Amber Cove terminal in Puerto Plata. This past week, Dominican Republic’s Miss Universe Kimberly Jimenez, the godmother of the ship, and the president of Carnival Cruise Line, Christine Duffy were present to welcome the Mardi Gras tourists to port.
The ship had been baptized on 23 October in Port Canaveral, Florida.
The Mardi Gras is the first Carnival cruise ship that operates on natural gas. The ship is a floating water park. A deck top Bolt rollercoaster is open for the entertainment of guests. The ship also features six themed areas.
Amber Cove is included in the Eastern Caribbean cruises of the company.
