Santiago is a mecca for medical services, university studies and cultural activities. Now the Ministry of Tourism committed during the ExpoTurismo recent event to include the second largest city in international promotions.
Tourism Minister David Collado said the time has come for promoting the destination in Europe, the United States and all the Caribbean.
Collado had praise for lodging businesses that have reopened 84% of the hotel rooms in Santiago. He said the industry provides more than 75,000 direct and indirect jobs for the Cibao province. “The time has come for tourism in Santiago,” said Collado.
He made the remarks when attending the 24th edition of ExpoTurismo, from 29-31 October 2021. The event took place at the Hodelpa Gran Almirante Hotel in Santiago, with the participation of 50 exhibitors.
