The agricultural counselor at the Dominican Embassy in Haiti Carlitin Guillen Tatis returned on Friday, 6 May 2022 to Santo Domingo. He had remained four days in captivity by the 400 Mawa gang in Haiti. He was taken to the Dr. Ramon de Lara Air Force Hospital in San Isidro Air Base, in eastern Santo Domingo for a complete medical check-up.
Public Health Minister Daniel Rivera said Guillen Tatis is receiving physical and mental health assistance after the traumatic experience.
Guillen said his faith in God helped him survive the difficult and traumatic experience.
