Bernardo Vega and the six Trujillo regime myths

Historian and economist Bernardo Vega shares again with the Dominican public what he calls the six myths on Dominican dictator Rafael Leonidas Trujillo that have been circulating for years. The propaganda overthe years has sought to spread the would-be bounties of the Trujillo regime. The myths are: that the dictator paid off the foreign debt; that he took control of Dominican customs from the United States; that he negotiated the border with Haiti; that he created the Central Bank; that he solved the Haitian issue; and that his government boosted the economy.
