
The Senate approved two loans submitted by the Presidency on the 22 June 2022 session. With the favorable vote of 19 senators of the 22 present, the senators approved the credit agreement, signed on 9 December 2021, between the Dominican Republic and the French Development Agency (AFD), for EUR86 million to be used to increase the capacity of line 1 of the Santo Domingo Metro, in its second phase. The project will increase the capacity of users of the service and the financing is included in the development projects contemplated for this year. This is in pesos, RD$4.97 billion.
The Senate also approved the contract signed by the Dominican Republic with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), on 10 August 2021, for up to US$30 million for the Dominican Republic Civil Service Program, or RD$1.64 billion.
