The Weather Office (Onamet) reports spring-like weather has arrived as the mild Dominican winter begins. Onamet says the very pleasant temperatures result from the chilly winds blowing in from the north. Expect cool mornings, with temperatures dropping to 21 degrees Celsius in Santo Domingo and Santiago, 22 in Puerto Plata and La Romana, and 24 in Punta Cana. In the Central Mountain Range areas, such as Constanza, below zero temperatures have been reported (in Valle Nuevo). Onamet reports the city of Constanza will experience lows of 12 degrees.
