The car window cleaner, Jose del Carmen Núñez (alias Cuatro Dedos) who assaulted a woman last week in Los Prados was sent to La Victoria Jail for six months preventive custody. Núñez is accused of attempted homicide after he threw a stone that shattered the side window of a 19-year old woman at the corner of Olof Palme and Núñez de Cáceres in Santo Domingo on 31 January 2023.
According to the version of the young woman’s father, Camel Bortokan, “Cuatro Dedos” asked his daughter for money for an unrequired service, but when she did not pay, he assaulted her, damaged her vehicle and then ran away. The case went viral on social media.
According to a press release from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Judge Rigoberto Sena Ferreras ordered the measure against del Carmen Núñez, after the prosecutor Janit Pujols demonstrated the possibility of escape on the part of the accused.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office said that the victim required medical attention due to the injuries from the violence.
In its indictment, the prosecuting body specifies that the actions of the accused violate articles 2,295 and 304-11 of the Penal Code, which punishes attempted homicide and for causing voluntary injuries to the woman.
Del Carmen’s arrest occurred on 6 February 2023 after the case went viral on social media, and the family formalized the complaint.
