Three months preventive custody to woman who stole a baby from maternity hospital

Pamela Rosario Suarez, accused of abducting a newborn baby girl at the San Lorenzo de los Minas Maternity Hospital on 20 January 2023 was ordered to serve preventive custody at Najayo Jail in San Cristobal, as reported in Diario Libre. Rosario Suarez had posed for hours as a maternity nurse at the hospital before leaving with the newborn after midnight.

The Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of Santo Domingo East judge Karen Casado imposed three months of preventive detention against the woman as the case is prepared by the judiciary.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office, represented by Kelsy Benítez, Andrés Marte and Ana Sánchez, requested preventive detention, arguing the woman could skip trial.
