Neon Lights Estate is the new Best Western franchisee for the Dominican Republic, Juan Tomas Diaz, company president announced. Diaz is brother-in-law of the president of the Puntacana Group, Frank Elias Rainieri.
Diaz took advantage of the Dominican Annual Travel Exchange in Punta Cana to announce the signing of agreements with Bill Clegg, Regional Director, Franchise Development at BWH Hotel Group and Thomas Guilliano, Managing Director North American Development at BWH Hotel Group of Best Western.
Diaz said the hotels will be located on the North Coast in Puerto Plata (near the Puerto Plata International Airport), on the East Coast in Punta Cana at the entrance to Cabeza de Toro near the Punta Cana International Airport and on the Southcentral Coast in Juan Dolio on the Juan Dolio Boulevard.
He said the Best Western hotels will offer attractive-priced stays for short and long-term stays.
He said the investment will be around US$75 million.
BWH Hotel Group is a leading global hospitality network made up by three hotel companies – WorldHotels Collection, Best Western Hotels & Resorts and SureStay Hotel Group. Overall the network operates 4,700 hotels in over 100 countries and territories worldwide.
In a recent interview with Caribbean Journal, BWH company CEO Larry Cuculic had expressed the company was bullish on the Caribbean. “If there is anything we have learned in recent years, it’s that people will always be passionate about traveling – vacations are a celebrated pastime and at BWH Hotel Group we recognize the importance of having hotel offerings in key vacation destinations. The company has also expanded its offering in Aruba, Curacao, Puerto Rico, Turks & Caicos. Hotels are in the works for St. Croix, Antigua and Barbados.” The company also operates a hotel in Belize.
Cuculic says the company envisions at least one hotel in each of the 32 nations of the Caribbean and 33 when Cuba reopens.
