The National Forensic Sciences Institute (Inacif) announced it was able to identify 10 corpses from body parts. The body parts are of missing persons found at the site of the San Cristobal explosion on 14 August 2023. The body parts were identified with DNA analysis carries out at Laboratorio Referencia.
Previously, the government had reported that 38 persons had died due to the blast. Identifying the corpses could increase the official count of dead in the San Cristobal tragedy to 48.
