Don Quixote by the Royal Ballet on the big screen at the National Theater

The Royal Ballet’s production can be seen on Sunday, 11 February 2024 in the Sala Carlos Piantini of the National Theater in the capital city.

Don Quixote by The Royal Ballet is the ballet adaptation of the story of the nobleman Don Quixote.

The Royal Opera Alliance RD presents the big screen broadcast of The Royal Ballet’s production of “Don Quixote.”

Former principal dancer of The Royal Ballet, Carlos Acosta is the producer. The adaptation follows Don Quixote and his squire, Sancho Panza, as they meet a young couple, Kitri and Basilio, and help unite them.

Theh principal dancers are Mayara Magri as Kitri and Matthew Ball as Basilio.

“Full of wit and enthusiasm, this exuberant ballet will provide some of the happiest moments of the 2024 season of The Royal Opera House in Santo Domingo, which will continue with attractive titles in the coming months,” says a press release.

Since 2019, the Royal Opera RD Alliance, made up of the British Chamber of Commerce in the Dominican Republic, the Sinfonía Foundation, the Friends of the National Theater Foundation and the Eduardo Brito National Theater, presents the opera and ballet seasons on the big screen on select Sundays at 5:30pm.

The Royal Opera RD Alliance educational program includes an educational guide, as and there are special prices for students.

Don Quixote tickets are on sale at the Sinfonía Foundation, at the National Theater box office and at Uepa Tickets.
