The Dominican Republic once again took center stage at the EAA Airventure in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to foster the growth of non-commercial private aviation.
For a week, the Dominican Airport Authority (DA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and other aviation agencies, showcased the country’s numerous advantages and facilities for private pilots and aviation enthusiasts. Hundreds of visitors were introduced to the Dominican Republic’s offerings.
Victor Pichardo, executive director of the DA, emphasized the pivotal role of the Protocol for Non-Commercial Private Aviation, implemented through Decree 259-23. “This decree, coupled with our proactive participation in events like these, has led to a steady increase in annual fly-ins. These events not only boost tourism but also contribute significantly to the national economy,” Pichardo stated.
The EAA Airventure, one of the largest general and experimental aviation exhibitions in the United States, has been held for 71 years. The Dominican Republic has been a part of this event since 2009.
