
The Dominican OIympic Committee reports on the outstanding performance of shooter Eduardo Lorenzo in the men’s trap events in the Paris Olympics. Lorenzo secured a spot in the top three after his first competition day. He shattered 23 out of 25 targets in the first round and then had a perfect score of 25 in each of the subsequent two rounds. He then ended day 2 with 119 points, behind the competitors from China, UK and Sweden who are tied in first place with 123 points.
The Dominican marksman has showcased exceptional precision. Lorenzo will continue his quest for a medal on Tuesday, 30 July 2024 as he competes in the second and final round of qualification. This is Lorenzo’s second Olympic Games.
Dominican swimmer Elizabeth Jimenez swam for a time of 1:04.99 in the 100 m backstroke in the Olympic Games. She was seventh in her qualifying heat.
Boxer Maria Moronta failed to advance in her first bout in the Paris Olympics. She lost to Chen Nien Chin of Taiwan 4-1.
