Who is the new director of the Migration Agency?

Several media have been publishing the provile of the new director of the Migration Agency, Vice Admiral Luis Rafael Lee Ballester.

Vice Admiral Lee Ballester was appointed general director of the Migration Agency (DGM) by Decree 560-24 dated Saturday, 28 September 2024. At the time of his appointment, he was serving as director general of the Center for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cybersecurity and Intelligence of the Armed Forces (C5i) since October 2019. His successor was not appointed and it is not known whether he will hold both positions.

Naval School of the Navy: Graduated with honors in 1983.
Lackland Air Force Base, USA: Specialized in English (1987).
U.S. Coast Guard: Training in maritime security and anti-drug operations (1987).
UNAPEC: Technician in Business Administration (1991-1993).
Inter-American War College, Rhode Island: Naval General Staff training (1996).
World Maritime University, Sweden: Port and maritime security (2005).

Military career
Career Start: Joined the Navy in 1983, serving in various naval units.

• Deputy Chief of Naval Staff
• Inspector General of the Navy
• Director of the Specialized Port Security Corps (CESEP)
• Director General of the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cybersecurity, and Intelligence Center (C5i) from October 2019 until his recent appointment as Director of Migration.
