Work is advancing on the expansion of the Arroyo Barril International Airport. Dozens of workers and a lot of heavy machinery is on site, and work is picking up pace both on the terminal and the runway. The new airport is expected to cost RD$200 million pesos.

The Ministry of Tourism has opened a tourist office information in Barahona, in the west of the country. The Minister, Frank Jorge Elias, travelled to Barahona last week to see the new Barahona airport and the area in general. The new office is in the Hotel Fundacipe.
