Hoy newspaper announces that the Mercasa firm formally presented the project to build the RD$1,000+ million mega market at Km. 22 of the Duarte Highway. The market would go up on a 634,000 square meter area and would be the center where produce headed to Santo Domingo would be distributed.

President Hipólito Mejía announced the construction of the San Pedro de Macorís-Verón highway.
