In the States it's known as a severance bonus, usually used to entice older workers off the payrolls. It sounds as though there was a partial pension payout for the part the OP was vested in as well.

The fruit of a lifetime of labor spent chasing a folly. Oh well, back to work.

the woman is 40 years old only and she should not have received this money in terms of redundancy alone. maybe you are correct that her pension scheme was included. oh well, she has 25 years of work now to make up for this loss. including working on her pension. he messed up her finances for the rest of her life.

There was a time in NYC when Garbage Men earned more money than School Teachers.

Solid Waste Management is one of the single fastest growing industries in the world today and today's "Garbage Men" will spawn tomorrow's Billionaires. You are too quick to judgment. There are some damn fine people in that group as there are in every group.

And That's the root of the fights! Sad to see, but we all sink or swim by our life choices. Hope she pulls though and over comes this set back

LOL Yeah, but these are not women they meet at work! A motoconcho driver, for example, has a wife, either from his neighborhood or campo, or maybe that he met through friends or on a night out at the carwash, dancing. No way a normal Dominican woman is going to be walking by, hear "compliments" from a random motoconcho guy and stop to talk to him and get his number. It?s like talking to the trashman!

The "POINT",...IS,.... when you choose to have a relationship with someone who has nothing in common with your lifestyle, you are making the chances for a successful, LONG TERM" relationship much more unrealistic!!!!!!
Many women prefer to "Marry Up" thinking about the long term benefits, to not only her, but her children.
Many men, including ME, tend to "Marry Down", thinking about the short term benefits, ie.,"Great Tits, A$$, and "Face"!
And you all know what THAT gets us!!!!!

well, solid waste management is where money can be made. by the owners of business and the management. if i had a million dollars to spare i would look into rubbish business for sure. but dudes who do low level jobs will stay right there. at a low level of the payscale.

which brings me to today... rubbish truck came in this morning to collect our trash. i heard them coming so i went outside with bottles and other goodies. and long behold the truck driver started psssting at me and sending me air kisses. listen, man, i may be white but i am not desperate. yet. :)
