No, to the contrary; that's the way the cookies crumble everywhere. Social classes stay among a tight circle word-wide.

they are more relaxed in the english speaking caribbean. i think that the boarding school system had a lot to do with curing snobbery, to a degree. also, the common entrance examinations. a guy from the poorest of strata can end up in a high echelon school , having the son of Mr So and So clean his dirty football boots. boarding school works wonders. it disabuses you of all notions of grandeur when some senior , who came from some campo where there are latrines, tells you that he wants your jam tart dessert, and you can do nothing about it but cry. by the time you graduate, you are cleansed of all things you believed before you went there.

Most people generally wind up with people of a similar upbringing. Money isnt a factor as much as education and family situation. Wealthy people are generally one percent of the upper middle and working classes.
A wealthy girl will marry a non wealthy man of the same class but not a non wealthy man of another. There are exceptions to the rules of course but generally thats the way it is.
Most people do screw out of their class now and again they call it slumming or whatever but as for the princess and the pauper fantasy leave that to Disney.

yes...that is correct, and bad things happen to them when they stray from class. We saw the daughter of the king of Spain marry a super good looking dude but nothing else..and he's gotten the royal family in all kinds of trouble..with his wicked ways.
Class is more than money..d.r. people kind of know this and toe the line..with a few exemptions...when loves..interfere with our better judgement.
