An adequate sprinkler system is the biggest safety measure of a high-rise and skyscraper. On a more important safety note, a fire in one of those towers could be catastrophic. My personal rule is no higher than the 4th floor in any hotel.....as that is about the top reach of any firefighting ladder equipment.......if they have such equipment nearby.

NYC has many skyscrapers including the Freedom Tower. If you’re able to find a firefighting truck with latters long enough to reach the top, let me know.
That doesn't look like it's anywhere near the Melia...I do agree that Melia is terrible these days. Now I know what that is I was looking at from my balcony a few weeks ago when I was staying at Melia. Might have to check it out when finished. Melia has certainly gone downhill since the new owner took over.
I could be mistaken if there is another big project going on in PC. But it was a project with 4 or 5 tower cranes that is why I assumed this was it. 🤷♂️That doesn't look like it's anywhere near the Melia...I do agree that Melia is terrible these days.
Not sure if they are targeting Dominicans and they keep the golf course exclusive to the hotel Dominicans would play many rounds?Looks like a golf layout in the photos
That eats up a chunk of the space
The Dominican Republic is surrounded by a water source.A concern for this poster is the weakness of the water infrastructure to support this unrestrained growth in the eastern tourist zone. There are few rivers, they are small, having dubious abilities to supply sustainable water distribution to the area. The fresh (sweet) water table of the zone for wells (pozos) is falling.

Thanks Windy, I didn't realize they were the same. The different regions have different names for the inept government water companies.
Singapore does it with great success. They also recycle water and now have enough to export it to Malaysia. (https://www.fairplanet.org/story/singapore-bets-on-water-recycling-to-achieve-sustainability/ see alsoDo a search for desalination and you will find many articles about yes it can be done, but at what cost?
It ain't cheap, requires lots of energy and there are the environmental impacts.
Let us see what the DR tries to do in that vein. They certainly need to do something.
Looking north from the Melia property you probably saw the group of cranes working on the Noval apartments in Los Corales.I could be mistaken if there is another big project going on in PC. But it was a project with 4 or 5 tower cranes that is why I assumed this was it. 🤷♂️
