Santo Domingo Weather Report
At 5 am the city of Santo Domingo was covered by an intense fog. Rare, but has known to happen in the past. The weather last night was for a change not cold. So far today, a good sunny day. It is about 29C (84F) outside at 11:30 am. Forecast for the Christmas holidays is good weather, so let's hope this prevails.
While there were afternoon showers yesterday, they were short. Today appears to be another good day, with sunny skies, albeit scattered clouds. The weather is pleasant -- around 28C (82F)
Looks like a good Christmas evening, unfortunately this means lots of noise from all the firecrackers that will be going off

Merry Christmas! Beautiful sunny Christmas morning. Very pleasant temperature -- about 27C (80F).
Yesterday, a short shower fell in the late afternoon, but the evening was beautiful with a full moon. So, yes, the "moneycrackers" kids had a ball (with every bang RD$100, RD$100, RD$100....)

Tuesday, 29 December. Evening was star-studded and then surprisingly, after 8 pm, it rained. After that the evening was overcast, and this morning the same. It has been chilly, about 25C (77F). But as of 9:30 am, looks like the day will clear, with patches of blue showing in the skies.
My optimism fell through. It's 1:20 pm now and skies are overcast. Drizzle of occasional rain. Looks like snow is falling on the southern horizon of city.
Chilly temperatures continue.
5:37 pm. Totally overcast and slight drizzle continues. Chilly. Doesn't look good for the New Year long weekend. Am told it's raining in the entire country, something like the remnants of a cold front from the North.

Given that yesterday was such a "cold" day (22C -71F), and overcast, with on and off drizzle, thought today would be the same way.
But surprisingly, this morning the sun was shining and it has warmed up to about 27C (82F).
Am headed for Samana with the family for the New Year and the weather report I got from the first of our group to arrive there is that the sun is also shining.
Checked with tormenta.net, the Puerto Rican weather site, and they are forecasting on and off rains for the New Year weekend, so do not have high hopes, but so far so good.

Chilly through the night. Early morning temperature of around 20C (68F), great for sleeping. Expect a noontime 26C (78F).

It rained lightly last night, after a day of mixed sun and clouds.
At 9 am, it is overcast with a light drizzle. Looks like a day for a sancocho de guandules.
23C (73F). Sunrise at 7:12 am, sunset at 6:18 pm. A high of 27F (80F) is expected around noontime.

Yesterday, after a day of mixed sun and clouds, there was a strong rain shower around 10 pm.
This morning, though , the sun was shining, and bright blue skies were the norm, until around 1 pm, when this all reverted to overcast and a light shower. Noon time temperature was 28C (82F), but once the rain fell at 1 pm, this dropped to about 25C (77F)

Yesterday was a good day, with a star-studden evening. Probably the result of all the rains of past days that cleaned up the atmosphere over the city of Santo Domingo and the fact there have been less blackouts!

Overcast and chilly. Some spots of blue skies, but mostly clouds. 25C (77F).
Raining heavily at 1:44 pm -- looks like snow with the sky just one big cloud.
Shower was brief, but it left us with even chiller temperature, would say about 23C. It's cold!
