I like Bravo, but man the one on Churchill(in the capitol) is always freaking crowded. The lines usually extend into the aisles and i just dont have the patience.
Thanks everyone. Would you know (as mentioned to me) that many of their products from Spain.
There is another one slightly closer to you, which is on a side street off 27 de Febrero. It's the street on the right after the Volvo dealership / Mapfre, can't remember the name. Turn right there and the Bravo is on the left.I like the 2 that I know of here in SD only problem is they are so far and hard to get too during the week. I am in the colonial zone an the 2 I know of are on Churchill and Nunez. think there is one on the other side of the river but never been to it. but the ones I have been to have great selection and prices.
Bravo is the only place that I have found decent Naan bread! Stock up every visit!

Been there. Decent store. They also have a new one on Prolongacion 27 a little west of the autopista 6 Nov. exit.
I am jealous. Here in PC was looking and looking for Nan or chapaties(sp?). We served indian dinner the other night. Maybe someone knows where in PC for Indian products - yum.
Thank you so much for recipe. I will be trying this.I've bought naan in Nacional, but it's not as good as the real thing because it's full of preservatives. Chapatis are easy enough to make.
Yes, but Bienamor lives in the Colonial Zone. Given that detail, close is not how I would consider that store. That's like mentioning the other store they open in SDE which is visible from the autopista de Las Américas. Far, far, far...They also have a new one on Prolongacion 27 a little west of the autopista 6 Nov. exit.

Bravo has slowly been taking a larger market over the last few years. Their religious beliefs probably set them back more than anything. Besides the Sunday closing they loose out greatly with the boose ban. When their warehouse burnt down they had no insurance becuase they dont believe in insurance only the will of god. Their wine is mediocre at best with barely palatable brands that are mostly unknown. Some of the brands are packaged for the DR middle class. I would prefer one good bottles than 3 bad ones for the price of 2. A friend of mine was frogmarched out of Bravo by security once for having a beer in her hand during Christmas. The meat is hit and miss. Sometimes you can get great steaks if you are lucky. Bread which is generally good can also pull its surprises. Some of the fresh fruit and vedge is export reject. Not that it makes a big difference on the flavor but if you look closely you will see some defect or odd shape. On the whole they do sell most main household consumption items at a reasonable price but if you are looking for qualty look elsewhere.
