When will DR open for International travel??????

I have a flight on July 7 from MIA to SDQ I've been stuck in Florida since March 10. My trip was a routine visit to see my doctors and visit with my sisters for a week. Unfortunately the China exported Kung Flu ruined everything and I'm patiently waiting to return home. I'll keep y'all apprised of any changes.
On a side note my mother is scheduled to travel on JetBlue June 18 from SDQ to FLL. I'll let you guys know how that worked out for her. In the meantime all we can do it wait. ☹️

This would be an exercise in futility. All things being equal, you expose yourself to getting infected every time you interact with anyone. Even the members of your household could infect you. The risk might be small but it still exists. At some point in time with very few exception we will all be exposed to the china export covid19. This is like trying to fight ageing to gain eternal life, it's a lost battle. So too is this penchant to avoid the unavailable. I'm in the highly susceptible group, among other things, I'm diabetic but I refuse to expect, or demand like some, that people stop living their lives for my benefit. Am I so special that merits the financial sacrifice or abliterateration of so many? I think not.
Just saw a YouTube vid from the exec director of C19 in the DR saying we will not pass on to Phase 3 meaning they are trying to kill July. Too much virus escalation in the DR. Full concensus by the committee. July flights in or out looking dead dead.

The Committee on Emergency and Health Management for the Fight and Prevention of Coronavirus recommended this Tuesday to the Government not to start phase III of the economic and labor de-escalation in the country, as it was scheduled for tomorrow Wednesday.
Significant move and based on health grounds they are correct. Country is descending into a crisis with hotel bed occupancy and ICU occupancy and deaths now increasing. More control on social distancing is needed in all it's forms imo.

Ouch! If my flight is cancelled I'm getting on one of those JetBlue ferry flights from JFK to SDQ. I don't want to wait any more. I'll flight my butt to that cesspool call NYC and take my chances getting home. GOD please help me, help us all.
You are a Dominican citizen? So far, the best information here is that only citizens can get on those repatriation/ferry flights. Not residents. But any new info on that will be appreciated.

Couldn’t they open up for legal residents, property owners (snowbirds) and maybe family ? But maybe that’s to much paperwork. They can manage it saying just citizens. Anyway July does not look like being the time either and with so many airlines pushing it to november it does not look good.
My three friends who have carried me through much of this Covid-19 charade, have moved on to other horizons for the time being.
It is time for me to get back to work.
Maybe I will go over in US politics section and read about guns and statutes etc
