Yes I have. If you think Liberacion is bad, I'm guessing you were never in el Tablon? Tablon was a health hazzard fire hazzard jam packed squatter driftwood shack ghetto. Nobody should have live like that. How many turds were floated into Sosua Bay each day from el Tablon? And they weren't forced to move to Liberacion. But being squatters in Tablon, I'm sure most of them took advantage of it.

I have spent much time in Tablon...much time 20 years ago. My Dominican abuela lived there with much of the family. Sure it was poor and yes fire could have been a issue. It was a great community though. I don't even want to get into how bad Villa Liberation is. It's interesting at night.

The the picking up an American tourist in Cabarete and taking her to Puerto Plata to spend some time in jail comes to mind. When it becomes obvious that 1 of these was not like the other, she is finally freed.

Yep. Big sure is right. They support the 50,000 people that live in Sosua with just those that arrive on JetBue. They truly are Saviours with some biblical abilities. Miraculous, they are.

I did the math once with some Accountant types , when the town was humming it came out to about 750K to a MIL a WEEK , pumped into the Local Economy...
this includes the Hotel ,which create jobs as well.. restaurants and Bars are naturally included..
what does your math say ? we talking when the town was reasonably full, not now ..

No, but they WERE living high on the hog back in the day.. Now they are back to eating rice, beans and Plantains , with meat only once a week... no one just decides to die from Hunger , you make due, and Dominicans are some of the best at surviving in very little ..

Very selfish. So you not only disapprove of the pay for play in Sosua you disapprove of the thousands that rely on tourist dollars to support their families. Just as long as your little world is not upset. I guess you feel that people that cook/serve them food and drink are culpable players in the sex trade.

That's not a hard number to get to. Doing real siimple math, If you have 500 guys in town, spending $1,500 for the week you've got 750k. And there's no question the loss of that income is going to hurt.

I have no opinion on the Saviours of Sosua in regards to if they should come or not. I have no objections to what two consenting adults do, for money or otherwise.

I simply watch the clown show the whore mongers produce. It is amusing, is it not?

I don't even think the mongers will return. from what i have seen lately the offering of ladies pounding the pavement has descended to pretty much strung out chicas, who dress so poorly they look like skid row hookers.

I guess the remissions have stopped and they can no longer afford more cheap ill-fitting Chinese dresses.

On the good news front - the crappy Chinese pica pollo just behind the Texaco Station has closed...a victim of the Wuham virus, how ironic ?

So true - fried garbage left under warming lights for many hours. Inedible, which reminds me I had a dinner at a hotel restaurant last night ( I won't name it, but it has a pool next to the bar) - the food was literally inedible - what passes for restaurant food in Sosua is almost pathetic....with very few exceptions, and I wonder, if others think like me, it has been going downhill recently ?
