Not hard for people who REALLY NEED to get here, like the ones who used to stay here all winter every year, residents, etc. But too hard for regular tourist who wants to buy a cheap package 'hotel for one week+direct flight'.

Getting ready to remove the curfew?

The higher they climb the harder they fall. You should continue to stay inside your apartment once they lift this curfew as I'd really hate read about ya getting rolled later on, lmao.
My nephew was in PC for Christmas. My sister and BIL were here in February for a 4 day AI stay. It's easy to get a flight in and out.
So what's your point? Some posters said that people decide not to come here at all because of the curfew. I said that's BS, because if tourists are able to come here easily and if they want to come here, they will book their vacations in PC and they don't care about the curfew. You just confirm that, your relatives traveled here and the curfew did not stop them. So the curfew itself doesn't affect the occupancy of hotels and resorts at all. That's exactly what I said.
I also said that people from many countries are still not able to travel here now because it's too complicated for them. For example, there used to be a lot of Russian tourists in Punta Cana. There's no direct flights between DR and Russia now. Russian borders are open for a very few countries and airlines now, and DR is not on the list yet. Technically, Russians can get to DR via Turkey, it's on their list of permitted countries, and from Turkey via US for those who have US visa and via Spain for those who don't have it. But such travel with two connections is three times more expensive and much more complicated than their normal trip to DR on a direct charter flight, so nobody will do that now except people who really need to get here. Once the direct flights will start again, they will come here and none of them will leave the resort anyway, so if there's a curfew or there's no curfew, no difference at all.

No, I may be wrong. They might for example relax the restrictions at the weekend and leave the curfew in place. My sense is that the next move will be to remove it altogether. And I keep hearing from police and military that they think this will be soon.
Illegal for British and French and Germans to go on holiday at the moment. Brits not allowed to go on foreign holidays until at least May 12th, but probably much later.

Airlines in the UK have to check documents confirming the reason for the trip, and there are also police at airports checking. And nobody is allowed to fly into the UK unless they have a PCR test and have booked and paid for two tests on days 2 and 8 of their quarantine, and if they don't quarantine then it's a possible prison sentence. It's pretty heavyweight.
It's also pretty disgusting.
While I was NEVER in support of the curfew, your assertions would pretty much back up the government's position for maintaining the curfew in place, even if in only a limited capacity for the more important security purposes.
If what you say is true, relieve everybody of the curfew, and invite a crime wave?

On this point, I would have to agree with Gene.
Maybe they should just come out and tell people why they have decided to continue with the curfew and start a dialogue with residents who live in these communities about crime prevention. It needs to be a collective effort in order to achieve real results.
I say send in the Balaguer-era firing broomsticks into these "communities", clean them out top to bottom, and then once sanitized properly.....rescind the curfew.
They could use the mass graves that were dug for all the C19 victims last year.

There are reports that robberies went up after the relaxing the curfew.
