I think we beat them 5-1 last time!!!!
But I suspect they will kick us all over the pitch this time.

Germany and Portugal are the 2 teams I have money on to win the whole thing.

Portugal is in my opinion not playing constant.
they have good days when they could beat any opponent,
and they have other days when any oppoent could beat them.
the Teams with a constantly good compact performance til now are Brazil, Argentine and Germany, the latter 2 may meet in the Quarters.
I like the Argentine's forward play, but i see their old defense line as theri weak point, they still did not have a good offensive opponent to show their defense's abilities.
Germany is playing constant but leaking striker's powers.
they play good on the defense line, control the midfield, bring the Ball in striking distance and then they are just a lil desaster to get it in the Net.
i agree, the game sunday England Germany we should not expect too many Goals, heck, even in the penalties i would not expect too many, lolol. is Klose and Podolski get their striking act a bit better together I value the Germans to make it far, but such can't happen without making Goals. Brazil still did not face any real opponent, there been no need to show their real powers, so they save them for the rounds to come.

good luck for the better to win on sunday
Mike

Well, actually Mike I am hoping the better team does not win on Sunday!

:bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny:

That is what I like about football though - there can always be some surprises.

Just a couple of quick points
1) I think England will raise their game dramatically against Germany, I know, they will NEED to!

2) This might sound like nit picking but we should make the distinction between 'Brits' and 'English' for the football. The Scotts and Welsh are all also Brits and will, mostly, be preying that England get knocked out at the earliest possible time!

It is not nit picking!
It is very true.

Strangely - most English would be rooting for the Scots or Welsh or both Irish teams in the same position.
The Welsh and Scots, as you say, will all be wearing Germany shirts and singing "Deutschland, Deutschand uber alles".

I saw Wales beating Italy a few years back in a qualifier and for that matter beating Germany at the then newish Cardiff stadium.
The Manic Street Preachers played a couple of songs as well - what a night out!!!

Giggsy-Wiggsy down the wing,
Yacky Da the Welsh boys sing....

Yacky Da, yes,
prost, cheers, salud, nastrovje, he he.
correct,
I have to keep my wording on England and differ to Brits.

absolutely right, England has big potential to better their til now poor performances, the danger is always there.
on the other side Germany can get their striking rate in order and Soccerroo 'em, lol.
it will be anyways a Top Ocassion to see such 2 big traditional Rivals facing each others, i hope both show us a great game to positively remember.
No More Wembley!!

cheers
Mike

interesting first half today,
the better Team is in the Lead and the reining World Champion is on it's way 'pa casa' now.
Slovakia is playing solid soccer with no fear about Italian big names or titles or such.
nice to watch

For myself, I think the world cup misses the Tartan army! Scotland fans have done their country proud for many years now!

For Germany, Podolski seems to hit everything but the goal, like he's done all year in the Bundesliga where he only scored like 4 goals all season.

Klose - same thing.

Kiesling, the scoring leader in the Bundesliga, is sitting on the bench.

It does not make sense.
