Yup...know how you all feel:
My Swiss knives....used as can openers hence no more Swiss knives.
Currently there are two cans of tomato paste open in the fridge and two small containers in the freezer because I bothered to freeze to last two that mi esposa opened.
Yes, the bath is surrounded by different shampoos and conditioners because she can't be bothered to put them in the organizer that is hanging from the shower head.
Yes, I have to re-wash the pots because there is always little bits of rice clinging to the supposedly clean pots.
And how many of you have clothes that have spots of chlorine on them?????
I will stop there because you might think that I don't appreciate mi esposa!

Let me give you a little history lesson.

CC has been posting on here since day 1, he has helped 1,000's of people and been an excellent contributor over the years. In the early days he was out of control, so I made him a mod, against many posters advice. He turned out to be a fantastic mod, a legend on DR1.

Sure, he has a warped and sometimes blunt sense of humor, but if you read between the lines, CC has an excellent grasp on Dominican culture and you can learn a lot, sort of like AZB. If you have a problem, add him to your ignore list, this is why we have the function.

Some of us go way back on here and have shared more than a few beers and meals with each other over the years, call it the "inner circle" if you like, hehehe.
We don't have "etched in stone" rules at DR1 and some posters are given more rope than others for obvious reasons... and that my friend will never change on DR1.

Understood, because CCcCCCcc is your buddy he gets more rope than anybody else here. He can say anything short of calling us monkeys on the board and we are all "supposed" to laugh about it, or else we are called "newbies". There's even one poster calling for CccCC to put us "newbies" in our place because we dared to call him out.

I get it....

I've gone on " vacation " several times for being far more PC than CC, but doesn't bother me. It did the first time though.

You are either in or out of the inner circle, mooooooove on already amigo!
It is just the internet, if you don't like Robert or the rules, delete the bookmark...simple. CCCCcccccCCCC is an oldie but a goodie, like him or ignore him.

I have gotten invaluable money and life saving advice from this place, even gotten laid by some of the finest Santiago P.U.C.M.M. students....Thanks JJ!!!

Tambo' was banned a few times for speaking his mind, even got my rep points stripped to zero, but I somehow crawl back and stroke Robert's willie to let me back on, there is ONLY one dr1!

No one person get's more rope than everyone else, just some of those long time excellent contributors get more rope than some. If you actually took the time to do a little research, you'll find that even some long time contributors have hanged themselves by over stepping the mark.

If you have a problem with the way DR1 is run or some of certain posters comments, either use the "Ignore" function or go find another message board, it really is that simple.

If you have anything else to say on this subject, then do it via PM, as anymore posts will be deleted.

Next....

I don't know if I should thank you or not?

Tambo, you have made many excellent posts over the years and helped a lot of people. Despite our differences, you'll still on here and still allowed to post, this is the "little more rope" theory at work :)

Here's a little story that gives insight into how we need to change our thinking about the little things while in the DR-

I had some brand-new underwear stolen from one of the places I recently stayed in by the housekeeper, likely for her surly, man-ape of a son who's probably never worn good-quality drawers in his life and never will again once they use Cloro to wash them.

I can just see him now impressing the hell out of his little girlfriend when he strips for her 5 minutes of bliss, prancing about the dirt floor of their shack in his Jockey shorts "de alta calidad".

Moral of the story-it's not the housekeeper's fault for being a thief; it's my fault for not locking everything up. I'm sure she was thinking what a pendejo these foreigners are for not securing their stuff wherever they go.

And yes, she was a very nice lady, good-humored and always up for a laugh.

I lost a watch the same way....and while I blamed myself for being careless [I took it off while washing my hands and forgot it on sink - in my own house] my mother-in-law banished the housekeeper from our property for life. It was a cheap watch, and the woman lost a lot more than it was worth in income from us. I'll never understand that mentality. Same woman told my husband she hopes her 14 year old daughter marries a Canadian. Specifically Canadian :cheeky:

What's with all the emotion, jeeeesus, I can't believe people are getting jealous of other posters. I thought it was odd, I didn't know the background, but us newbies got an explanation to quash our curiosity, makes sense to me. Now we know, no confusion, move on.

Anna, I remember now that was one of your favorite threads at the time. What did you do, bookmark it for times when you needed a laugh?

It was one of my more memorable ones. Did a search with cc as the poster and the words Dominican fire department, nada, fire department, nada, then fire truck and bingo:cheeky:

That was me. I got tired of it and just washed the dinnerware that I would eat from.

Another thing, tell me if I m out of the loop on this one, but what is the deal with the soap? I dont like sancocho. But I used to go to those sancocho parties just to be sociable. Where the F is the soap, man? Hey hey hey...I go in the bathroom to wash my hands before I eat and I cant find any soap. If I cant find any soap, what did you use before you prepared this food? In DR, you figure they are poor so you gotta use that paste they wash the dishes with BUT in NY? Come on man, you CANT LIVE ABOVE A DOLLAR STORE AND HAVE NO SOAP IN YOUR HOUSE. you CANT HAVE A DINNER PARTY AND DONT HAVE ANY(OR FORGOT TO GET) HAND SOAP FOR YOUR GUESTS. YOU CANT SPEND $2300 FOR A LEATHER SOFA FROM JENNIFER CONVERTIBLES AND NOT GET AN $8 6-pack of Irish Spring from Kmart.

Excuse me, but in my bathroom there is a bar of soap in the shower and another on the sink. Another FOUR bars in reserve of varying scents just in case. So why is there no soap? What are you doing in the bathroom that is different than what I do that doesnt require nor OBLIGATE you to wash your damn hands????? Just touching the door knob makes me want to wash my hands.

Thats why I stopped going to those things. Plus I dont like sancocho, too soupy for a "stew". I ll take a vat of Dinty Moore anyday.

Geez, never seen so many people who don't get sarcasm.

I don't know this Cris Colon character but read a lot of old posts so I could be informed, bout all I can figure out was he was some kind of second class Sailor who couldn't cut it in the real Navy so he served on some boats hanging off the coast of Vietnam and moved to the DR and lived off his family

Whats the big deal?
