To the Organizers of this event:

Since some of us are coming up from the Capital on Saturday - do you have any meeting point on Saturday nite for everyone to get together for a drink etc... Also, any recommendation on hotels / house for rent for one nite will be greatly appreciated. Are we having a social gathering on Saturday nite, so the MiTaverna team is not the only ones that look like crap on Sunday morning - we hate drinking alone - but will do it if required Also, Question 2: What is the reward for the most international team - we have one each of Aussie / Brit-Pak / Irish-Amer / Chin-Amer - that alone should give us a handicap

They are close together and lots of the players live in and around Sosua.

To stay overnight, I would suggest Las Canas, the place with the large pool.

Playa Dorada golf course is around 20-25 mins away from Sosua.

Campesina and Las Canas - always there when you need them.
OK - pre-golf tourney party at Las Canas on Sept. 6, evening around the pool....they've offered a terrific room rate for out-of-towners. No lifeguards at the pool. Gurgle at your own risk.

New info: Golf Club at Playa Dorada now says one caddy per cart will be required, after previously saying none would be required. He blamed it on pressure from the caddies, which is perhaps true, it is their living.
Caddies are RD$400 for 18 holes, so $200 per player. Not a huge sum but regret to backtrack on info already disseminated.

Changing Goal posts at PD golf course is nothing new tflea - happens all the time!! :ermm: :cheeky:

Whereas what you write above is perfectly correct (i.e. RD $400 for a caddie payable before starting & into the caddie-master's hut) it should be also mentioned that the caddies look for further remuneration for their time on the course. An additional RD $800/1000 (US $25.00/30.00) is what the caddies will expect - RD $500/600 (US $15.00/20.00) is more normal to give unless you are a naive tourist just along for the quiet life!irate: :cheeky:! ~ Grahame.
