Update 9/04

We've made agreement with PD Golf Club to have only 1 caddy per 4-some.
Up-front Caddy fee of $400 pesos per 4-some will be absorbed by the Tournament Committee. In other words, the caddy will be free for participants (included in the $2,500 entry fee). Anything players want to tip their caddy is totally up to the players. What a deal !
We hope this will encourage attendees to be more generous with auctioned items for the charity.
10% off any purchase at the Pro Shop on day of tourney.
10% discount on range balls before play.

Latest weather forecasts for Ike seems the force is with us preliminarily and play will go on unless forecast between now and then alter significantly.
Play on!

Add another Chip to the list - I'll be playing w/BB and HB.

I thought our team was complete with the addition of Ted F? Did you check this with him direct?:ermm:

Tflea/Tom .......... did you notice that Lee B. is listed twice? I know it doesn't alter the numbers (I checked & 42 is the correct number prior to Chip putting in his application).

Stay away from our parade Ike!! ~ Grahame.

Fortunately the WX looks much better. Please arrive before 9 a.m. as we will actually Tee Off at 09:30. We have room for the few who just would like to show up, pay and play; a very flew slots, but all are welcome. We encourage you to support a worthy cause. Registration starts at 08:30. There will be a table for that, by the bag rack near the putting green. We have give-aways for players registering, compliments of Dale of Admiral Sports Wear and, the planning committee. It is perfectly OK to show up solo, we will pair you with others needing a 4-some.
Gathering is still on at Las Ca?as about 7 p.m. Saturday for pre-tourney fun and a brewsky or two before outing to local sponsor's watering holes in Sosua at your leisure. Visit Jolly Roger's, Pedro McMurphy's, Brittania Bar & Grill and yes gentlemen, La Pasi?n - all generous sponsors in Sosua.
Guaranteed to be more entertaining than either the U.S. Republican or Democratic conventions.
Play on!

Update 2200 Sat. Night

So you may be looking outside lately thinking Hmmmmm, but we still plan to play as scheduled. We expect by Tee Time things will be calm and well playable.
Grounds will be a little wet some, but we are still expecting to be able to play. Storm should be well gone by the time we all awaken for coffee.
See everyone at the course. Beers are on ice, the mood is positive, the South Coast boyz have arrived for the fun as well.
Bonfire at Curt & Sandi's (of DR1 Real Estate) tomorrow evening in the hills of Sosua after the event. Come roast a weiner or marshmallow and have a beer.
Maybe we'll have a prize for the best tale of the day.

By the way: New Sponsor - JetBlue, roundtrip ticket to JFK. Thank you Kelvin.

It looks like I am first home & first on to DR1 so I will just do a quick report!!

The weather held off for us, the wind played havoc with many a tee shot & long iron - the drinks trolleys coming round so often played havoc with our sobriety!! It was a GREAT day & all seemed to be in good spirits (or spirits seemed to be in most good people!!).

It was delightful to catch up with 'Old Friends' not seen for many a year like that cricketing marvel, 'Phil' - that crooner from Puerto Plata Beach Resort, 'Mike Evans' & a couple of the Sosua guys I had not seen for more than 3 or 4 years!! To say we all played GOOD golf would be one H*LL of an overstatement, but most had SOME good shots & the fun was unlimited!! (Thanks for your company round the course HB, Ted & Lee).

The official report (& dubious photoshots) will doubtless come from the committee shortly & to advise on how much money was raised .............. All I want to do is to offer a VERY BIG THANK YOU to Ted, Doug, Tom etc & their good ladies for all the time & effort put into this FIRST North Coast Charity classic. In the words of the immortal bard ................ YOU DONE GOOD Guys!! More power to your elbows (or whatever other part of your anatomies the ladies want you to have 'Power'!).

I'll get some practice in for next years Charity Classic I Promise!! ~ Grahame.

Great Day

Seems everyone had an excellent day and Hogar Crea will be most appreciative of all the good folks who supported the cause. We'll post total donations in the next few days. Thanks to all sponsors and participants. Curt, DR1's official documentarian for the event will have a few shots to share soon I imagine.

Very strange. After crossing the mountains, using the tunnel, it started to rain and has not stopped since. That was several hours ago.

We were indeed lucky to get everybody through 18 holes of golf, a couple of hours of social gathering and not have any, repeat, any significant rain in POP/Playa Dorada...
The organization and management of the event was very well done and those guys and lady are certainly to be congratulated for jobs well done.\

thanks Lord.

I have to say that there will be some good photographs put up, some that might embarrass a few, but all in good fun. I tried to take a couple with my phone and we'll see how they come out.

Say a few prayers for the folks in Cuba. According to FOX, that part of Cuba has never been hit by a major hurricane....just goes to show you how lucky we have been over the years.

thanks Lord

I, too, was pleased to meet a lot of people and put a few faces to just Nicks on the internet. Stay well.

Thanks Lord, for a wonderful Day!!
