Well, Mike, you lost the bet and had to move there. Hopefully in the city and not Factorno power in nagua the whole day
Yes, it was, but we only got TS force winds here on the north coast, but they were stronger than Isaias.Wasn’t Maria like a Cat 3 hurricane ? And it was the one that hit Puerto Rico really bad

This was my exact take here in Sam. I don't have a pool, but there was simply no drama hereDrove to La Romana this morning around 8am from Punta Cana. Easy "no drama" drive. Ont the way back around 1130am, once again, no excitement. Once past the last toll booth, winds and rain whipped up a notch. I live 2 miles west of the airport. All afternoon, wind gusts and some rain, but nothing blowing down the street (garbage pails etc). No doubt those along the shoreline would feel more, but here, my daughters decided to hop in the pool for a few minutes. Having been through a few of these in my 15 years local, I would peg the gusts at 40-50 and the average winds in the high 20's.
Now I sit watching hockey with a nice breeze blowing through the windows.
Maria was a Cat 5, PR was devastated. Based on my experience, it hit Cab as a TS.Yes, it was, but we only got TS force winds here on the north coast, but they were stronger than Isaias.
It was a Cat 5 when it hit PR. It was a Cat 3 when it passed us on the north coast. It might have clipped PC(?), but it never hit the north coast.Maria was a Cat 5, PR was devastated. Based on my experience, it hit Cab as a TS.
I do not think it was 3. I have been looking for the data but haven't found it yetIt was a Cat 5 when it hit PR. It was a Cat 3 when it passed us on the north coast. It might have clipped PC(?), but it never hit the north coast.
Scroll down. It passed just north of PC as a Cat 3:I do not think it was 3. I have been looking for the data but haven't found it yet
See my above post from Fortune. It did not hit with cat 3 force winds. It was very specificScroll down. It passed just north of PC as a Cat 3:
Hurricane Maria: Storm lashes Dominican Republic after Puerto Rico is 'obliterated'
Hurricane Maria thrashed parts of the Dominican Republic with heavy rain and high winds as it passed off its east coast on Thursday after making a direct hit on Puerto Rico that caused severe flooding and cut power to almost all the island.www.telegraph.co.uk
I consider it a "hit" when the eye wall passes over. It passed north of us as a Cat 3 - we had TS force winds.I found this. Here the wind velocity shows it was not hurricane but TS force winds when we were hit
