There are no worries for DR in Case of any wind forces from Beryl nor overly full storm force rain falls.
Of course I hope to get some good rain up here at my place.
The only danger for DR, and which we still can't calculate exactly, is the impact of the storm surge towards the SE of Punta Cana and along all our South Shores.
A simple full closure of all our Beaches in all Punta Cana and all along the South will be sufficient to keep everybody safe from storm surge.
Beryl had it's peak power time and is not expected to strengthen further, the perfect functioning of it's machine get's already interruptions and will take away wind force powers little by little from today on, so it should be down on Cat2 before it left the S of Hispañola, that will bring a bit of relief to Mexico/Belize, as then it will not be a strong Cat2 but mor likely the edge of a TS-Cat1 Storm by Landfall at the Belize/Mexico Border on the Yucatan Peninsula.
As for the Important Tracking Forecast, the only little difference today is that Beryl is positioned a tad bit further South on it's expected Landfall Location.
The Movie "Beryl24" is running, we all have our tickets, popcorn(means food and waters at home ready incase of any unforeseen changes on tracking) and cold beers ready, so let's watch and stay Alerted in case of any changes to happen.
Once it left us out of it's reach of influence, we will change over to the next System in the make, with a maybe 2nd-next in the make entering the Eastern Tropical Atlantic today, too.
We will all be fine.

Beryl just became first ever Cat 5 storm for 2024 and earliest too
From the Washington Post online "On Sunday, it became the Atlantic’s first storm on record to reach Category 4 intensity in June, and then Monday it surpassed Hurricane Dennis as the strongest Atlantic hurricane to form so early in a year" Is your post a typo or am I missing something?

Beryl showed very fast intensification after the pass over the small Islands, I did not expect such, neither.
It runs a tad bit further north than awaited due a "jump" of the eye around 90 minutes ago, saw that only now on the 1hrs delayed to be seen Sat loop.
No changes on the awaited Tracking so far.
150mphr is a not awaited storm power.

Thank you Mike, lets hope it does not jump more north!

Due that light Northward move and the higher than awaited wind powers,
we have now for our South Shores a Tropical Storm Winds Warning in effect.
That also means we will get some more storm surge powers.
More significant is this for Jamaica, they have a Hurricane Winds Warning up and will the next days stay very close to the straight hit line.
So far we can stay relaxed on Hispañola, but we have to stay alerted, specially on our SW.
Beryl continues it's high forward speed of min 20mphr,
so it should be to it's closest point to Punta Cana no later than tomorrow/Tuesday Noon, walking S of the Mona Passage.
From there on it will come Coser to DR Soil, with it's closest encounter S of the Barahona Peninsula.

This evenings latest up date show's Beryl with 160mphr wind speed running on a 22mphr forward speed, which is a not so common combination, but good for anything in it's path, so it does come and go quicker, less hours of destructive pounding of wind forces.
No changes on the Tracking, our SW of the DR will come very close to TS winds, but just TS Powers, no dangers for hurricane winds.
We will see what the morning will bring, as it will pass us on our S tomorrow.

And this link is the best to watch it's actual position/moves, see how far it's powers reach in any direction.
It is usually no more than 45-60 minutes old(the last image of the loop).
You need to refresh that page to be always on the newest loop.
The times shown on the loop are in ZULU Time, means 4hrs ahead of our local DR Time.

Stay save everybody and stay away from our Eastern and Southern Beaches.
We have enough beach days each year without the need to act stupid during stormy days.

I read this little blurb today and though it is a simple explanation on hurricanes.
Weather like this operates with “positive feed back”. Water vapor has an atomic mass of 18, air is 30. This makes water vapor 30% lighter than air. When this air rises it rains and increases the humidity of the air below thus this air gets lighter and so rises more rapidly. It is a heat pump that takes heat from the surface to high in the atmosphere where it radiates out in to space.
The earth is spinning at around 1600 kms/hour at the equator and nothing at the poles. Air moving north is going faster than the earth and air moving south is going slower than the earth. This is what drives the high speed circulating winds. When the ocean surface rises to 20Deg C there is enough water vapor in the air to start a hurricane.

I see that the Tropical Storm warning is from Palenque west, so doesn't include San Cristobal nor the capital. Let's pray that Beryl's a nice lady and stays nicely south of us.
My instinct was also to call Beryl a she.
Then I saw Mike Fisher refer to Beryl as a he.
Curiosity got the better of me.

Then I dug a little deeper and saw the first storm of the season was Alberto.
So...
Only in America, they say.
😎

A storm is a "It", even that they get their names given by Female and Male names interchanging.

Beryl is past the Mona Channel, running 165mphr wind forces, on a unchanged WNW Tracking.
Here at my place we had late last night the first good showers, right now it starts again as I type this.
We have a constantly blowing very strong wind up here on the lil hill, the sky is dark grey heavy clouded, so solar power will not load much today.
How is it on our Beaches, specially on the South?
Remember,
now that it is S of our Island, it will come closer to our Island during the pass, so winds will increase until it is really gone with rain to stay until it's NEern bands are gone/moved out.
Lets post below how it looks at your homes on the different locations on the Island.
