Sosua is changing and the opening hours also... :knockedou
Announcement today from mayor and turismo: within ten days change from Sunday till Wednesday 1:00 am and Thursday till Saturday 3:00 am..

Congratulation Mayor and Turismo.

Now that things are going back to pre-Election hours....
Can the pro-early-closing-side, state a positive outcome from this experience?

Many ordinary people of Sosua have suffered... will they be compensated?
Or is it just “oops” ?
Or even worse “silence” ?

Just like a wannabe Chica, envisioning every night with a young Brad Pitt clone.
Not gonna happen.
It's more likely be a old, fat, hairy, sweaty guy.

The same with the Sosua Council dreaming of rich couples drinking their Tea with there pinkie finger in the air.
It will more likely be the same old fat, hairy, sweaty guy drinking beer.

These guys, may not be as glamorous, or spend as much money at one sitting, but they are already coming in large numbers. Much of Sosua relies on them.

Mayor and Turismo..... Sosua needs to be molded and improved with a hammer and chisel, not changed overnight with a sledgehammer.

Cabarete
Great news! Too many of those girls and some mongers were starting to come to Cabarete. What's in Sosua should stay in Sosua!

Unfortunately "things" are not going back to "pre-Election hours", which is what they should have done, just go back to 2:00am on weekdays and 4:00am on weekends. The provisional hours are now 1:00am Sunday through Thursday and 3:00am Thursday through Saturday.

The same small group of business owners who were looking to blame their shortcomings on the original change are already complaining that the one additional hour is not enough. Not returning to the former closing times, only ONE hour later than the new provisional hours, leaves just enough room for those same business owners to continue complaining, and they will.

Fortunately this group will continue to shrink as they receive almost ZERO community support as evidenced by the miserable attendance of their "protest" and the declining participation in their "open to the public" association meetings. Only a very small percentage of actual association members attended these meetings, and the much sought after members of the community weren't that concerned with the earlier closing times and DID NOT attend or support them. The ridiculously exaggerated claims of 200 unemployed and 40 business closings as a result of the time changes were exposed for what they actually were, a lie.

So who is this "pro-early-closing-side" that you speak of, other than the authorities who ordered it? In actuality there weren't many people opposed to the original hours of operation, most of the population of Sos?a were simply not affected by the change in hours and didn't care.

Many ordinary people of Sosua have suffered... will they be compensated?

Very few suffered. The "ordinary people of Sos?a", the ones who do not have a business on Pedro Clisante or do not work on Pedro Clisante, well, that is the overwhelming majority, and they just weren't affected or concerned. If they were they would have supported those business owners, they didn't.

By "Chica" I assume you mean prostitute. NO prostitute is "envisioning every night with a young Brad Pitt clone." They want MONEY. PERIOD. The younger, better looking ones have plenty of young, good looking Dominicans chasing them and they already have their "pick of the litter". The physical appearance of their clients is not what persuades them to become sex workers. The "wannabe Chica" "wants" MONEY.

The same with the Sosua Council dreaming of rich couples drinking their Tea with there pinkie finger in the air.

While I can not claim to know if the "Sos?a Council" is "dreaming of rich couples drinking tea", I can absolutely assure you that they ARE NOT very concerned with the "same old fat, hairy, sweaty guy drinking beer." And while I agree with you that "those guys" certainly are not "glamorous", they ARE NOT "coming in large numbers." They have been here for MANY YEARS. Those "old fat guys" are NOT the demographic mainly responsible for the disorganization and chaos that has transformed Pedro Clisante into the current condition in which we find it today. And neither are the sex workers THEY generally patronize. The paradigm shfit in sex tourism that has been occurring over the past several years is responsible and that is the subject for another thread so I won't go there, for now.

Mayor and Turismo..... Sosua needs to be molded and improved with a hammer and chisel, not changed overnight with a sledgehammer.

Just look several hundred meters to the east of the infamous section of Pedro Clisante causing so much recent "concern.". On that very same street there are plenty of "hammers and chisels" "molding and improving" Sos?a. They are transforming (changing) the old Esplanada hotel, into the new AHNVEE Sports & Resort Complex. And just last Saturday, after construction resumed, 187 people, the great majority of them actual Sos?a residents, received a pay envelope as a direct result of this change. Many more than the fabricated numbers of unemployed being represented by certain PC owners and workers. And many more opportunities will be created during the continued construction and opening in early in 2017.

I had suspected that the closing hours were not back to normal as others would have suggested.

Any news on the direction the "War on Whores" will now take?

Too many girls? My sarcasm detector isn't working. But will that be allowed to take hold in Cab?

I still think Montellano is a perfect spot. Out of the way, they lost the sugar cane plant, no tourism to speak of, and lots of the girls already live there.

Jeeez, Maybe I should open a bar?!? The old Home Run building is still for sale.

Since the whores were hounded these past week - - -
I have decided to pass out horehound candy at Plan B on Friday night.

I will be wearing a disguise ( http://fanpix.famousfix.com/gallery/w-c-fields/p16202731)
So if you recognize me flash me the peace sign,
and if you don't recognize me....well you don't recognize me.

And regarding Sosua's war on hookers it is as WC Fields said:

"If at first you don't succeed, try try again. Then quit there's no point in being a damn fool about it"
