"C mon" Bob.
YOU may only spend $1,300 a month, but how much does your wife spend???????
That's like me saying I "Spend" $700 a month, and not including the other $4,000 I spend on my family!!!!
What is the "TOTAL"???????
And I believe you own your house so no "RENT", or house payment, each month.
CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC

I NEVER use "CONDOMS", so I save a LOT THERE!!!!!!
AND, "Viagra" is dirt cheap!!!!!
Just like my "Chicas"!!!!!!!!

I was including my wife. We spend lots of money on things, like more property, various things for the schools...etc, but all that comes out of school money. None of that is living expenses. This guy is living in a relatives home so I'm sure rent-free or very cheap. The biggest living expense is gas for the Santa Fe, and that varies greatly from week to week.

My husband is from Puerto Plata and used to live on a Domican salary of about $300 a month but shared a 3 brm bungalo in POP with oodles and oodles of relatives. They didn't have to pay rent and stole the electricity etc... LOL bought 20 peso phone cards every day etc LOL and had no landline to pay for etc... ate empenadas for 30 pesos on the corner... now that he lives in Canada and works as a sub contractor and makes a salary of $3000 a month... he spends about $2000 in pocket change on a 2 week vacay in POP LOL I don't see him being able to return to living on $300 a month when we retire. Not with his appetite.

You know that old saying... "You can never go home again"? Very true for Dominicans who live abroad, hard to go back to the old days.

Good to see you posting again, it's been awhile.

European citizens can choose to live anywhere in the EEC they wish. They can have pension paid locally too.
