Santo Domingo.- The National Police on Tuesady said it apprehended two men in connection with the murder of US citizen Van Teasley, whose body was found in his residence in the upscale sector of Gazcue on November 2.

Police spokesman Jacobo Mateo identified the suspects as Luigy Miguel Gonz?lez G?mez (Coca Negra), 20, and Jhon Michael Cabrera, 19.

He said Gonz?lez had a close relationship with Teasley during around one year and introduced him to Cabrera as his cousin.

Mateo said the two planned Teasley?s death and bound him with two tie-wraps bought in a business nearby. ?The American was killed to steal 1,500 dollars, clothes, shoes and cell phones.?

He said Gonzalez had confessed to using a pillow to suffocate Teasley.

U.S. media report that Teasley was a prominent attorney hailing from the Washington DC area.

Hopefully, with this level of media attention, justice will be done. But, it's still the DR.

I have my doubts about these arrests I do not think a person who was planning a murder for a year would keep things and I imagine the wealthy victim would give 1500 for a pasola Of course it will need a family member to come here and demand justice at the court and so the process will slowly ,very slowly go on.

I completely agree with Kipling. There's something very strange about this. I just can't see that one of these prostitutes (let's call them what they are) would know someone for a year and all that time be planning their murder for "just" US$1500, it really doesn't ring true to me. Surely we're looking at a situation here where the boy thought he was owed this money - maybe he wasn't being paid and wanted to be - and eventually decided to collect. That seems far more plausible to me.

I just hope more than anything that these are the guys who actually did this murder, and not just a convenient pair arrested by the police and then beaten into a statement.

As does the one in today's DR1 news
Arrests in murder of US lawyer
The National Police has arrested two suspects in the murder of a lawyer from the Washington D.C., Van Teasley in the Santo Domingo neighborhood of Gazcue on 31 October 2014.
The arrested men are 20-year old Luigy Miguel Gonzalez Gomez (Coca Negra) from Capotillo and 19-year old Jhon Michael Cabrera from Las Canitas.
El Dia reports that Gonzalez Gomez confessed to the murder of the 55-year old Van Teasley with whom he said he had a homosexual relationship.
While robbery is suspected, the prosecutors continue to investigate the case. Teasley was using AIDS/HIV retroviral treatment, as reorted in El Dia. Prosecutor Wagner Robles said that preventive custody would be requested for the two accused.
Police spokesman Jacobo Mateo Moquete said that Gonzalez Gomez had been in a one-year long relationship with Teasley and had met with Teasley, introducing Cabrera as his cousin.
It appears that they plotted to kill him and before arriving at his apartment had already bought plastic tie wraps from a nearby store, which they used to tie up the victim.
Gonzalez Gomez said that they met Teasley in Parque Independencia and then went to his apartment where they killed him and stole US$1,500 in cash as well as clothes, shoes and mobile telephones.
Moquete said that Gonzalez admitted they used a pillowcase to smother Van Teasley before going to a local hotel by taxi to divide up the money and stolen items.

The Primo..

I am starting the hate the Primos! Either they are the guys who will kill you or they are the guys that shag your wife or gf or perhaps are the esposo of your wife...
