Yeah, good point, Bob...women tend to get so bored that they ask to be beat up so that they can post photos of their disfigured face on the internet. Because, nothing says "Bored" then being beat nearly to death.

Not one single person here said she did not get assaulted, not one. They simple indicated that it did not go down as she stated. As more info creeps out, it appears that it in fact did not go down as stated. Blaming the police and the corporate entity is a classic time tested scam to cloud the issue at hand. Its a close relative of the slip and fall accident and the date rape. Easy to blame hard to defend.

my instincts tell me that she lasts 15 minutes under a professional police grilling, and comes clean.

Detectives have a way of asking questions they already know the answers to, and getting you to LIE about things you dont even need to lie about, to cover up the big Lie , once they accomplish that , they know they like u , and they go deeper ..
Most people cant grasp it , even if they watch those cop shows where they interrogate people.

Problem is they will never interrogate this Husband or her .., since it happened on Dominican soil, someone correct me if i am wrong..
I believe what prev posters also said ,, the 4 month delay was all NEGOTIATIONS for Money , not a single attempt to catch the Perp, and finally the Hotel had enough and said "we not paying you a DIME".. and she blew up .. I don't even think she even Proof read that face book post , she just slammed it out and posted it , and once you post something like that you cant take it back . That is not a Post she worked on for 4 months .. for a professional person, she could have done a LOT better writing.

From my experience, prices aren’t cheap in the summer since kids are out of school. I have been to this AI in the summer a couple yrs ago and price was around $250 a night.

What does any of that have to do with the topic of the thread, of a woman being attacked and left for dead on a resort???

Someone started saying that this Resort is dropping prices because of this incident , and their online Reputation went down a couple points, so they are scrambling ... and it went off the rails from there with price comparisons .

when will it end...

Look at this way, The DR1 LapTop Detectives are the equivalent of a bunch of jamokes sitting around a 1960's Barber Shop giving their opinions and theories on the latest crime in Mayberry RFD. That's all.

Those that don't want to partake, get their haircut and leave.

Yeah, if local PD every got a hold of him they would drag out the truth.

You can see a scenario where the Dom cops figured it out (inconsistencies in the husbands statements) and just let it go because they would not be able to prove anything. So the couple just go home to the States. Similar to how Domestic Violence against a wife was handled back in the 50's/60's.

If he is behind it, I think the wife will be the one to finally figure it out. She's obviously not a dummy, he'll eventually slip up and give something away. Hopefully before he kills her.

I honestly had not thought of that specific angle yet ..
The hired Killer ,, who failed , I got that part,,
but that she did NOT figure it out yet .... that it was an attempted murder , which failed .
I read the hired killer scenario... although I think " venezuelans" is a little far fetched .. but certainly possible .
But honestly I just assumed She would have figured out something like a " oh krap, my husband really tried to to have me killed ? " scenario. She never did say " i have no enemies, so this makes no sense to me, especially since they stole nothing from me "... and that would be a very natural thing to say when you are attacked so brutally.
or does she really not grasp how personal this seems to be ?
can she really be that Naive ?

I really think some of you have no idea how the Dominican police work. Rape kit, DNA, forensics - this is the DR not the USA, UK, Canada wherever. When I was attacked four months ago the police (and there were three police forces involved and it was in the press) did zero, zilch, nada forensic work. When I arrived at the hospital, no one bagged my clothes, no one checked under my fingernails, no rape kit was done (they didn't even ask if I had been raped - luckily I wasn't), no photographs taken, nothing. When the police came to my house, on several occasions, no fingerprints were taken from anywhere, no search of the property or search of his escape route. Not one single part of forensic evidence was taken. I cannot see how anyone would doubt this lady's story. Shame on some of you.

I would like to agree with Matilda; to speculate on such matters without evidence and only here-say is to ignore the generally accepted morale thought of ''Innocent until proven guilty''... The two key words being ''innocent'' and ''proven''.

Does not apply
as there is no SUSPECT .. ie no one has been formally accused of the CRIME.

or are also agreeing that the Husband is the most likely Suspect ? ..

otherwise, this does not apply..

I am not a believer in the hired killer theory because of the fact she is still alive.

I don’t know if its by states or federally, or how it works; but, I have seen a suspect extradited from the USA to the DR. Its usually the opposite route, but I have seen it and countries have a reciprocal agreement.

If this turns out to be a lie (which I don’t think it is), the victim can be charged and extradited to the DR to face her charges in Dominican court.

Because the resort and the Dominican authorities have a vested interest in covering this up and discrediting the victim as it hurts their reputation and bottom line. Someone mentioned the price dropped after the story broke and we are discussing if it was due to the incident or normal season.
I suggest reading a thread before commenting.

And a new statement by the head of the DNI also stating she did not want to file a complaint.

https://www.arecoa.com/destinos/201...urista-agredida-ha-manipulado-intencion-dano/

The last sentence in this article states “También se dice que la afectada le pedía al hotel 200 mil dólares para no poner la denuncia y le dijeron que no, que era preferible investigar”, manifestó.

Which is for the non-Spanish speakers. In addition it is said that the lady in questions asked the hotel for US$200,000 for her not to file a complaint, and they refused stating it was more preferable to carry out an investigation.
