Easter Sunday 27.03.05 @ 06.30am

Yesterday - a nice sunny day with some reasonable breezes. Beach was packed! It did cool down a little towards evening.

Today - I didn't get to walk very far on the beach this morning as it's still full of late night revellers, my dogs don't like the noise.
Sea looks nice and calm. Another lovely dawn with the sun coming up and a pleasant light breeze along the shore. The air is cooler and the humidity not too high. A clear blue sky and a warm sun! What more could you ask for?

Monday 28.03.05 @ 06.20am

Yesterday stayed very nice and sunny with some super winds.
The breeze kept on a bit through the night and was here again this morning.
The sun is up, the sky is clear and it looks like another good day. There is a bank of cloud out on the horizon to the North East, however.
I may not be in town for a few days from tomorrow so any volunteers?

Tuesday 05.04.05 @ 06.15am

Sorry sorry but been out of town again!! Me now back for a couple of days.
It rained quite heavily yesterday evening late and continued into the night. It sounded quite a lot but doubt if it's enough to satisfy the water shortages claimed?
The morning was very nice, a little humid but a pleasant temperature. Methinks it's warming up now as it was a bit sticky since I returned home.
Quite a lot of early morning cloud but this has cleared a little and the sun is shining.
No real surf at sea and only a little shore break along the beach.
Got to dash as somehow I seem to be busy all of a sudden these days?

Wednesday 06.04.05 @ 06.10am

Yesterday was quite pleasant even if there was a bit of cloud about.
Some light rain during the night.
This morning it continued raining and some heavy stuff began around 06.15am and it's been like that on and off ever since. The blustery winds are making the rain feel a lot heavier than it really is.
Sea is up, high tides puushing the water up the beach quite a way. Lots of surf out on the reef and some shore break of up to 1.8 metres along the bay.
It's wet in paradise today!

Saturday 09.04.05 @ 06.10am

Me back in town! The rain followed me to Santo Domingo on the 6th as there was a good 40 minute downpour in the evening in the city. Windy too.
Today - a lovely morning, relatively calm seas, partially clear skies with hazy clouds about but the sun is coming up. There's a little bit of a breeze and our early morning beach walk was a little cooler today.

Suunday 10.04.05 @ 06.15am

Yesterday remained nice all day.
Today, the usual dawn clouds but these soon cleared to a rather hazy sky. At 10.00am the sky was more blue than earlier although there's still that haze about - but the sun is out and it's hot again! Nice, nice, nice!
No breeze as yet and the sea is calm with very little shore break.
Not many tourists on the beach so it must be low season? (Hey, I can even find a parking spot in town)!

Monday 11.04.05 @ 06.05am

Me and my big mouth! Cabarete was a nightmare yesterday - the beach filled up, the country buses came in their droves and the place was awash with people. Only difference between yesterday and Semana Santa was the lack of garbage collection, the lack of control and the lack of discipline on the beach!
Anyway, the day stayed very hot and the evening was pleasant. It did try to rain a little bit buut it was just one dark passing cloud.
We did get a small light shower of rain during the night.
This morning it was nice once the cloud cleared and the sun did come out. there were a lot of darker clouds out to sea though.
Sea was flat calm and no shore break.
Now it's 08.30am and the clouds have come inland and it is a little dull and overcast at the moment. Some sunny spells.

Tuesday 12.04.05 @ 06.00am

Yeah - I know! It was still dark at that time but the beach was reasonably busy even that early.
Yesterday - It rained during the morning, quite heavy but just falling because there was no wind. Then the day remained a little overcast but with some sunny periods. A dry night.
This morning it was dull and overcast at dawn and has stayed that way since. It did drizzle for the first 30 minutes after dawn but it was very light and was more annoying than wet! It did make it a bit cooler though.
Sky is still very dull and there's dark clouds about. (07.50am).
Sea is flat calm with little to no shore break.

Wednesday 13.04.05 @ 06.20am

Yesterday turned out reasonable despite the dull start and the rain held off. It was a bit cooler in the evening as the wind picked up. Lots of frustrated windsurfers as it didn't blow early enough during the day but one enterprising soul had the Hobie Cat out in the bay around 6.00pm.
This morning dawned with clear skies except for the odd scattered cloud. Now the sun is shining and there's a bit of a breeze kicking in. (08.40am).
Could be very nice day?
Sea is relatively calm but there is a small shore break along Bozo Beach - 2 feet in places.

Thursday 14.04.05 @ 06.10am

Yesterday remained half decent with sun and some overcast moments.
This morning it dawned clear except for a few scattered clouds. Not much wind on the beach but it was blowing a bit inland in the night and this morning.
Sea is relatively calm.
Sun is up so hopefully a perfect day?

Friday 15.04.05 @ 06.20am

Yesterday it started to get warmer and felt a lot stickier than it has been. There were a few passing clouds that blocked the sun occassionally, but in general it was a fine day. Question is - whilst we've had some strong winds over the past week are the windsurfers, kiteboarders ever going to be satisfied? It's a bit tiresome listening to "The winds aren't blowing", but now it is worse and all we get is "It's in the wrong direction", "There's no waves", "It's too strong"!!!??
Get off the beach you whingers and go sailing!!!
Today it's turning out nice again with clear skies, not blue blue, but at least the sun is out.
Sea is dead flat - or it was early this morning.

Saturday 16.04.05 @ 06.10am

Yesterday - hot and sticky with nice sun until later in the day when it became a little overcast. No winds at all!
There was a bit of thunder and lightning off to the East late last night and this developed into rain at around 05.50am this morning.
It has rained quite heavily until 07.15am but it seems to have stopped now. Sky is still dull, cloudy and overcast. There's a bit of a breeze so no doubt we're in for a spot more rain today?

Sunday 17.04.05 @ 06.30am

A bit late reporting today but had stuff to do!
Yesterday - remained dull and overcast for most of the day. Afternoon it did clear up a bit but soon became overcast again. A not windy day!
There was a slight rain shower at around 9.00pm last night.
Today - at 05.30am it started to rain with a light shower at first but by 6.00am it was pouring down. The heavy rains stayed until around 08.15am but since then we've had intermittent light showers and drizzle.
Skies are still overcast and very dull.
Sea was not rough and the winds have not been again around today.

Monday 18.04.05 @ 06.00am

Yesterday? Rain, dull & overcast, more rain. Winds picked up a bit later in the day and it was a lot cooler, and then .... more rain!
Rain in the night but not too heavy.
Today - more rain in the early dawn hours but very light and turning to prolonged drizzle. Skies are dull and overcast.
Winds are around 7 knots this morning and directly onshore - could be good later?
But then there's the rain!!
Shore break up to 1.5 metres in places.

Tuesday 19.04.05 @ 06.15am

Yesterday remained dull and overcast with the light drizzly rain lasting well into the late morning. It did dry up later but in the evening it looked really black again. There was no wind later.
Today - hey we had some clear patches and a bit of blue sky just after dawn but then the black clouds rolled in from the North and North West. What started out as a light shower has now developed into heavy and prolonged rain!!
Still hissing down at 07.45am!!

Wednesday 20.04.05 @ 06.10am

Yesterday - What a load of rain we had early in the morning! There were certainly a few deep puddles around especially the one in front of Wyndham Tangerine and the flooded Esso station!
There were a couple of lighter showers throughout the day and it remained dull and overcast for most of the time.
There was a bit of wind later in the day but that soon died. The night remained dry but it was cool enough for me to need the duvet on the bed again.
Today - At dawn it was reasonably bright with only very high whispy clouds and plenty of clear sky. Out to sea and on the horizon you could see the rain falling from a bank of dark looking clouds which, unfortunately have now moved inland and the sky is dull and overcast once again. Despite the odd bright patch it looks like it could rain again today?
Some surf out on the reef but in general the sea is relatively calm with a 1 metre shore break along the bay and Bozo Beach.

Thursday 21.04.05 @ 06.15am

Yesterday - mostly overcast but there were some sunny spells. It clouded up later in the day and we had some light rains between 7.30pm and 10.00pm.
Today - Nice dawn but there were clouds about. A huge bank of dark rainy stuff out at sea around 06.20am bt it was travelling West towards POP. The skies over Cabarete were relatively clear until 07.50am when they became dull, grey and overcast again.
It was quite chilly again early this morning.
Sea is calm with only a little surf out on the reef and up to 0.6 metres of shore break.
Has anybody else noticed the sudden appearance of thousands of dragonfly along the beach this morning? Must have been a huge hatching somewhere cos' they're everywhere and all flying along the beach from West to East!

Friday 22.04.05 @ 06.00am

Yesterday - the rain held off until 3.00pm when it hissed down again and lasted some 3 hours. Not nice! When it did stop the evening sky cleared and the tables came out on the beach.
This morning it dawned cloudy but with some clear patches and the sun came up to try and shine through. It's 07.30am now and there are a few blue patches up there but also a lot of cloud about.
Sea is calm with little to no shore break.

Saturday 23.04.05 @ 06.05am

Yesterday - It remained quite dull and overcast with some sunny spells. In Cabarete we had a small light shower of rain at 2.30pm, then a dry spell, then more light showers until a big downpour around 5.30pm.
Today - the sun is out!! The sky is relatively clear and it looks better than it has done for a few days now. There is a slight breeze on the beach so it was a litle chilly first thing.
Sea is flat calm.
